The Right To Bike: Kids in Nairobi Want Better Laws and Safer Roads.

Critical Mass Nairobi was recently featured in the New York Times @nytkids. The feature briefly captured the experiences and expectations of some of our young cyclists aged 11 and under.

We wish policy makers and road agencies could wear the lenses of young kids when designing roads or deciding on policies. Kids want to enjoy public spaces just as much as adults do, but they are continuously forced to stay indoors or forced to stay within the boundaries of parking lots.

We are glad groups like Critical Mass Nairobi (and several other cycling groups in Kenya) have made it possible for these young kids to come out and enjoy their public spaces. It is their right after all!
